2025 REGISTRY SUMMARY
by Registrar Rebecca Courtney
2025 was an exciting year for the registry side of the EBRA. We registered a record-high 76 horses and experienced significant growth in the Appendix Record. It’s hard to overstate the value of the Appendix program for documenting the European Brabant lineage in high-quality draft crosses for use in various programs. The Brabant Stock and European Brabant studbooks are also seeing slow but steady growth as young horses age into the breeding herd and more foals are produced.
We recorded 19 transfers of EBRA-registered horses and are excited to welcome the buyers of these horses as members of our community. In total, the EBRA had 49 members in 2025. We are excited to see what 2026 holds and hope that you will join us in our mission to preserve and promote the European Brabant draft horse.
2025 EBRA AMBASSADOR REVIEW
by Registrar Rebecca Courtney & Volunteer Stacy Pearsall

Congratulations to all of the 2025 EBRA Ambassadors! Seven individuals joined the program and took horses to events such as the AWSSR Inspections, the PA State Farm Show, a local birthday party, and an international mission conference. Non-horse events included newspaper and radio interviews, spots on the TV series After Action, and a presentation to the Girl Scouts of America. Online, our ambassadors competed in the EBRA’s Virtual Horse Show and also The Online Horse Show (on Facebook), where the Brabant breed consistently scored well against a variety of other horses in the draft horse type and solid color classes.
The 2025 High Point Award for the Horse Division goes to Olga Pushkareva. For the Non-Horse Division, Stacy Pearsall was named the High Point Individual. We appreciate all of our ambassadors and the time they spend sharing the amazing attributes of the European Brabant with communities across the nation. We hope to see many more individuals logging hours as a breed ambassador in 2026.
EBRA Ambassador Olga Pushkareva of OT Farms' mare, Toffee, took over the breed ambassadorship responsibilities for 2025. She went to the Missouri State Fairgrounds, attending the Young Horse Show Series (YHS). She attracted a lot of attention from the attendees and fulfilled her performance requirement for the American Warmblood Society & Sporthorse Registry registration at the event.
Laurel Mountain Farm's owner, military veteran, and EBRA Ambassador, Celeste Brucklacher, and her European Brabant mare, Luna, took part in the Lycoming County Veterans Day parade today in Montgomery, PA. She and Luna escorted Vietnam veteran, Marine, Barren Zimmers, from the Muncy VFW.
“We have had very good attendance at this event, 200 plus attended last year,” said Mike Wall, a U.S. Navy veteran and the Montoursville Veterans Day coordinator.
EBRA Ambassador Kelsey Rogers, and the whole Wigoh Farms European Brabant horse family traveled to Star Elementary School in Star, Idaho, to help educate 4th-grade children about horses on Farm Life Spirit Day.
"4th Grade got an extra bit of farm spirit yesterday, as one of the fourth grade parents brought their horses to school. They were fascinated by the size and strength of these big, beautiful animals," said Star Elementary representative.
In Charleston, SC, the Brabants of LowCountry Acres featured prominently in Season 3 of After Action on PBS, Apple+, and Amazon Prime. They were also featured in a front page story of The Post and Courier newspaper.
"Whether Pearsall is at peace in the pasture with her horses or doing what she can to help veterans find their voice, she takes it all in stride," said Chelsea Grinstead, staff writer for The Post and Courier.
In Mercer, PA, EBRA Ambassadors Dehan and Rebecca Courtney of All the King's Horses made the news when they celebrated their family farm's 200th anniversary. Seven generations of the Courtney family have upheld their agricultural heritage, including today's generation with their European Brabant breeding program.
"To commemorate the 200-year milestone, the four families living on the farm were given a proclamation from the Mercer County commissioners, presented to them July 2 by Commissioners Ann Coleman and Bill Finley Jr.," Pamela B. Courtney said.
